Urban Experts is holding a tender for the development of the concept of an information center for the Holocaust Memorial Center “Babyn Yar”

The architectural bureau Urban Experts, a technical partner of the competition for the creation of the Babyn Yar Holocaust Memorial Center, is holding a tender to develop the concept of an information center for the future Babyn Yar Holocaust Memorial Center.

The tender is being carried out by order of the Babyn Yar Holocaust Memorial Center Charitable Foundation.

On April 1, 2019, the first stage of the tender procedure began. Seven Ukrainian architectural companies were selected to participate in it on the basis of submitted applications. Among them are seven bureaus from Kiev: 33BY Architecture, ARTTECNOLOGY, BURØ, Yakusha Design, KUDIN architects; as well as decorkuznetsov from Dnipro and Mistudio from Lviv.

Participants must submit the developed concepts of the information center to the tender committee by April 21, 2019.

The information center will include a historical block, tell about the activities and mission of BYHMC and will present a model of the project of the Holocaust Memorial Center in Babyn Yar.

Let us remind you that an international architectural competition for the best project of the Babi Yar Holocaust Memorial Center is underway. The center will become a national and international reference project, combining landscape and memorial park with iconic architecture and a unique visiting experience. 10 top bureaus in Europe and the USA are taking part in the competition. The winner of the competition will be announced on July 31, 2019.

The clearinghouse should be created by the end of August 2019. It will function until the opening of the Babyn Yar Holocaust Memorial Center, which is scheduled for 2023.

Previously, as part of a technical partnership, Urban Experts specialists performed preparatory work for the competition and participated in the creation of the terms of reference for the contestants. Vitalii Boiko, CEO and founder of Urban Experts, joined the technical committee of the competition.
