Leslie Jones Architecture is appointed by Kirklees Stadium Development Limited to design and deliver a new £55 million leisure, entertainment and hospitality development on brownfield land around the John Smith’s Stadium in Huddersfield. The practice’s extensive experience in masterplanning and architecture is providing the innovation required to bring this land back into use and elevate the area’s regional draw.
The design solutions will ensure the development attracts a wider range of leisure operators to the area, including a ski slope, trampoline park, body flight and bowling along with specialist retailing, hotel and restaurant offers.
As one of the most significant leisure developments to take place in the region, Leslie Jones will enhance the area’s capacity to attract more visitors and increase dwell time. The vision for HD One capitalises on the already established John Smith’s Stadium – with a capacity of 24,500 people, accessibility from the stadium and the right mix of uses on offer at the development will be critical to its future success.
